My name is Kevin Morrow. I am the Elementary PE teacher/ 8th grade science teacher at O’Neill Public Schools.  In 2009 I became a Google Certified Teacher and in 2011 an Apple Distinguished Educator.  I served 2 years on the NAHPERD board.  In 2010 my 5th grade students won a Recess Rocks video contest which allowed me to purchase 7 iOS devices to integrate into my PE classes.  In 2012 I was awarded a NETA/Century Link grant and purchased 10 iPads to integrate into my PE instruction. I am currently conducting action research using iOS devices as a part of the Century Link grant to find out if students achieve higher fitness and academic levels when issued an iOS device to use at their convenience 24/7.

I have been in education and coaching since 1995.  My teaching and coaching career began in Stuart, Nebraska where I was the 5th and 6th grade teacher in a combined classroom.  From that position I moved into a full time special education position at O’Neill Public Schools which I did for 2 years.  For 5 years I taught Title I for grades 7, 8, and 9 in math and English.

I am currently in my sixth year of  teaching elementary PE grades k-6 and my 3rd year of teaching 8th grade science. These are exciting new challenges for me as I am trying to integrate 21st century technology skills and practices into the physical education and science classrooms while at the same time maintain some traditional teaching strategies that hold value in a timeless fashion.
